1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, requesting our services, or entering into a service agreement with Ashleyreeds ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ashleyreeds.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

These Terms should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect and use your personal information.

2. Description of Services

Ashleyreeds provides the following security services:

2.1 Installation Services

  • Security system design and consultation
  • Alarm system installation
  • CCTV and surveillance system installation
  • Access control system installation
  • Smart security integration

2.2 Monitoring Services

  • 24/7 professional alarm monitoring
  • Emergency response coordination
  • Video verification services
  • Mobile app monitoring capabilities

2.3 Maintenance Services

  • Scheduled maintenance visits
  • Emergency repair services
  • System upgrades and updates
  • Technical support

Specific services, pricing, and terms will be detailed in your individual service agreement.

3. Installation Terms

3.1 Site Assessment

Prior to installation, we will conduct a site assessment to determine the most appropriate security solution for your property. You agree to provide accurate information about your property and any existing security systems.

3.2 Access

You agree to provide reasonable access to your property for installation, testing, and maintenance purposes. If an appointment is missed without 24 hours' notice, a call-out fee may be charged.

3.3 Installation Standards

All installations will be carried out in accordance with relevant British Standards, including BS EN 50131 for alarm systems and BS 8418 for CCTV. Our engineers are trained and certified to the highest industry standards.

3.4 Property Modifications

Installation may require drilling holes, running cables, and making other minor modifications to your property. You authorize us to make such modifications as reasonably necessary. If you are a tenant, you must obtain landlord permission before installation.

3.5 Completion

Upon completion of installation, we will:

  • Demonstrate the operation of all equipment
  • Provide user training
  • Supply relevant documentation and user manuals
  • Issue a certificate of installation

4. Monitoring Services

4.1 Service Scope

Our monitoring service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When an alarm signal is received, our monitoring center will:

  • Attempt to contact keyholders in the order provided
  • Where appropriate, notify emergency services
  • Document all events and actions taken

4.2 Keyholder Information

You must provide accurate keyholder contact information and update us promptly of any changes. Failure to maintain current keyholder information may affect our ability to respond to alarms.

4.3 False Alarms

You are responsible for minimizing false alarms through proper system use and maintenance. Excessive false alarms may result in:

  • Police response being downgraded or withdrawn
  • Additional charges for service calls
  • Requirement for system inspection or upgrade

4.4 Police Response

Police response to alarm activations is subject to local police policies and is not guaranteed. We will make reasonable efforts to facilitate police response where appropriate, but cannot guarantee attendance or response times.

4.5 Communication Lines

The monitoring service depends on reliable communication between your premises and our monitoring center. You are responsible for maintaining adequate telephone, broadband, or mobile signal as required by your system.

5. Customer Obligations

As a customer, you agree to:

  • Use the security system in accordance with provided instructions
  • Keep access codes and system credentials confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any system faults or malfunctions
  • Maintain the security system in good working condition
  • Ensure adequate power supply to the system
  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding security systems, including data protection laws for CCTV
  • Display appropriate signage if required by law
  • Not tamper with, modify, or attempt to repair the system yourself
  • Pay all fees when due

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Installation Fees

Installation fees are payable as specified in your quotation. Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit of 50% is required before work commences, with the balance due upon completion.

6.2 Monitoring Fees

Monitoring fees are payable monthly or annually in advance by direct debit. Failure to maintain payments may result in suspension of monitoring services.

6.3 Maintenance Fees

Maintenance contract fees are payable annually in advance. Ad-hoc repairs outside of warranty or maintenance contracts will be charged at our standard rates.

6.4 Price Changes

We may increase prices annually in line with inflation (RPI). We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increases.

6.5 Late Payment

Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate. We reserve the right to suspend services for accounts more than 30 days overdue.

7. Warranty

7.1 Equipment Warranty

All equipment supplied and installed by Ashleyreeds comes with a manufacturer's warranty, typically 2 years from the date of installation. Warranty terms vary by product and will be specified in your documentation.

7.2 Installation Warranty

We warrant our installation workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of completion. This covers defects in our work but not equipment failures or damage caused by misuse, environmental factors, or third parties.

7.3 Warranty Exclusions

Warranties do not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, accident, or neglect
  • Damage from power surges, lightning, or other electrical events
  • Modifications made by anyone other than Ashleyreeds
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Consumables such as batteries

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Security Systems

While our security systems are designed to deter and detect unauthorized entry, no security system can guarantee complete protection against burglary, theft, fire, or other events. You acknowledge that:

  • Security systems can reduce but not eliminate risk
  • Systems may fail due to circumstances beyond our control
  • Emergency service response is not guaranteed

8.2 Liability Cap

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the greater of:

  • The total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or
  • £10,000

8.3 Exclusions

We shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Loss of profit, business, or anticipated savings
  • Loss of data or use of data
  • Losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control

8.4 Insurance

We strongly recommend maintaining adequate insurance coverage for your property and contents. Our services are intended to supplement, not replace, appropriate insurance.

9. Termination

9.1 Contract Duration

Monitoring and maintenance contracts have a minimum term as specified in your agreement. After the minimum term, contracts continue on a rolling monthly basis.

9.2 Notice Period

To terminate a contract after the minimum term, you must provide at least 30 days' written notice before the next billing date.

9.3 Early Termination

If you terminate during the minimum contract period, you may be required to pay the remaining fees for that period.

9.4 Our Right to Terminate

We may terminate or suspend services if:

  • You fail to pay fees when due
  • You breach these Terms materially
  • We reasonably believe the service is being misused
  • Continuing service poses a safety risk

9.5 Effects of Termination

Upon termination of monitoring services, we will cease monitoring your system. Equipment that you have purchased remains your property. Leased or rented equipment must be returned.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Ashleyreeds or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.

The Ashleyreeds name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Ashleyreeds. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
